The Conservatory Repair Company

Roof repair and replacement

REPAIR OR REPLACE ??

The roof of a conservatory is without a doubt the most vulnerable part of the structure, wear and tear through weather and damage though falling roof tiles are the most likely cause of problems,

The most common faults needing attention are leaks, slipped roof panels, faulty roof ventilators, misted or broken glass units.

We can repair all these types of faults. In certain cases it is necessary to replace the whole roof, we can supply and fit replacement roofs with a choice of glazing materials to suit any budget.

Modern roofs are usually glazed with either Polycarbonate in various thicknesses or toughened or laminated glass units.

Both of these materials are highly serviceable and have their own distinct advantages and of course some disadvantages.,

Polycarbonate: This is a highly versatile product, it is made up of layers and ranges in thickness from 10mm through to over 35mm thick. The most popular thickness for modern roofing systems is 28mm, this thickness gives superb insulation and performance. Polycarbonate is very light, immensely strong ,and is available in a wide range of colours/finishes. For north facing gardens we recommend clear or an opaque white 'Opal' Finish. Conservatories that face south need to be fitted with a roofing material that gives solar protection and a bronze tint or a heat guard option is an excellent choice for this position.

The downside with polycarbonate is that it is quite noisy in heavy rain.

For those that prefer a clear outlook through the roof, then glass is the choice for you, available in a wide choice of tints, with self cleaning, clear and obscure options. Glass is quiet in rainfall, but does have the disadvantage of being more expensive, its weight means that upgraded roof systems are required, and of course can break in rare cases if its struck by a roof tile or similar dislodged from the house roof in high winds.

Whatever your choice, we can provide a purpose built new roof to suit your requirements.
